Hitchon is new Padiham skipper

Padiham Cricket Club have named Kevin Hitchon as captain for the 2018 Ribblesdale League season.

Hitchon who takes over from Phil Haggerty, who has returned to Lancashire League neighbours Lowerhouse.

The new second XI skipper is Ryan Clegg, who takes over from Phil Edmondson.

The third team captain is to be confirmed.

Curtis Meehan and Owen Deakin Pickard have both returned to the Arbories after a stint with Lowerhouse, while James English has joined the club from Haslingden.

The club have arranged two pre-season friendlies.

They will host Nelson at the Arbories on Saturday, April 7th at 1 p.m., and entertain Elton on Sunday, April 15th, again at 1 p.m.

The club have also announced new club league and cup sponsors in Hardy Access Scaffolding.

Junior sponsors will again be LED Controls, who have extended for a third year.

The club would like to say thank you to all sponsors.

Senior indoor nets start on March 6th at Shuttleworth College at 8 p.m., £2-50 per session, with new players welcome.
