History in the making as George sets new record

George Durkin created history when he became the first player for Lowerhouse Cricket Club to score a 50 in an under 11 pairs cricket match.

He overtook Jack Simms’ previous record of 39 as a top score in 11s pairs cricket for the club, made in 2013.

George was playing for the U11(3) Koalas team in a victory over Nelson in the Lancashire Junior League U11 Division 3.

George scored 55 not out in his allotted four-over batting slot . He was partnered by Oliver Spendlove, who was also not out.
