Double woe for Padiham CC over Bank Holiday weekend

Padiham were one of four sides who failed to register a win at the weekend in the Ribblesdale League Senior Division, along with Whalley, Brooksbottom and Earby.

On Saturday, Liam Bones was their tormentor in chief as Edenfield bowled the locals out for just 81, before easing to victory by seven wickets.

Bones took 7-30 for Edenfield.

The following day, it was a similar tale of woe.

Padiham made 182-9 against Ribblesdale Wanderers, as Phil Metcalfe top-scored with 53.

But Wanderers had little trouble knocking the winning runs off as they passed the target for the loss of just one wicket.

Professional Ben Dougall made an unbeaten 80, while Brannon Varley added 69 not out.

On Saturday, Padiham are at Clitheroe, before a trip to Cherry Tree on Sunday in the Ramsbottom Cup first round, wickets pitched at 1 p.m.
