Cricket tournament raises £3,700 for Pakistan floods appeal

A CHARITY cricket tournament brought the community together while raising funds for victims of the Pakistan floods.

A staggering total of £3782.03 will now be donated to DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal after Hussainia Cricket Club in association with Burnley, United and Whitefield cricket clubs helped put on the tournament.

The event was also supported by Burnley Telematics, based in Northbridge House Elm Street, and company director and tournament organiser Mr Ejaz Hussain said: “It was a successful cricket event for a good cause and attracted a lot of support from local community and businesses.”

Mr Hussain thanked everyone for their kind donations and said the tournament would continue next year at Burnley Cricket Club to help raise funds for local charities.

The monies were collected and audited by Burnley-based charted accountant firm MacMahan Leggate.
