County call for Burnley cricketers

Burnley Cricket Development Group are pleased to announce that Georgia Clough and Becky Jo Gorton have been selected for the County Under 13s for 2012.

This is the first time Becky has featured with Lancashire, having only made her Lowerhouse debut in 2011.

Georgia, also from Lowerhouse, has previously played for the county Under 11s .

Burnley CDG would like to thanks Qasim Ali for his work with the girls .

Meanwhile, Lowerhouse’s Hannah Till (Under 15s), Shannon Jackson and Maddy White, both Under 16s, and Jess Nixon (Under 14s) are all currently on specialist skills training within the county set up.

Burnley CDG are currently putting two Under 11s girls and eight Under 10s boys through their paces as part of a programme to assess and prepare for the county trials.

The two girls are already attending county assessments, while the boys are being assessed locally for a final shortlist for their county trials .

This is the first time that the county have run an Under 10s side.

Sixty local junior cricketers from Under 11 to Under 15 will undergo a six-week programme commencing late February for the district squads.
