Burnley District Under 11s were left kicking themselves after a narrow defeat to Hynd, falling just short in the runs chase.burn in their first game of the season.
After an opening stand of 43 by Singh and Zaeem Shah, Qasim Shah boosted the run chase with an aggressive 51 retired. Later stroke play by the remaining batsmen gave Hyndburn a real scare but the damage had been done in the first half of the reply as Burnley finished on 149-5, chasing 153-6.
Kai Moreland took 2-23.
But the Under 15s recovered from an opening match defeat to beat Lancaster District.
Talisman Joseph Halstead took 3-8 and made 75 not out as Burnley won by nine wickets.
The nine bowlers restricting Lancaster after Halstead and Khan tied the openers up.
Halstead’s innings contained 12 fours and three sixes and wrapped the game up with 10 overs to spare, Laraway and Molloy also chipping in.
