Wayne Bennett set for memorable night

Wayne Bennett’s 4th pro boxing bout on Saturday, May 21st, will be at Northbrigde Leisure Centre Halifax.

The show - “Burnley does Halifax” - is the first boxing event in Halifax since November 2004, when local fighter James Hare boxed Mancunian David Barnes for the British Welterweight title.

Wayne is hoping to take his usual vociferous crowd to cheer him on to his fourth win, and they have every reason to turn up as the show includes rising light-welter stars Liam Walsh (6-0) and Tyrone Nurse (16-0), both looking to embellish their careers. The show is also supported by local Halifax lads turning pro, including Scott Gladwin who has been a Novice and Junior Champion.

More reason to go is that there is a massive after party and also a spectacular raffle which will have several substantial prizes at only £5 a ticket.

First prize is a two-week holiday in the Algarve in September, and another notable prize will be a scooter valued at £1,500 donated by Earnshaw’s of Huddersfield.

All in all it is a very big event with a packed boxing card, a raffle with several very decent prizes, and a big after party, should ensure that on May 21st Halifax will remember it’s homecoming to boxing, and anybody who attends will remember a fantastic night!

Tickets and coach arrangements) are available at £30 and £50 ringside from Wayne Bennett on 07713556763
