Now Singleton, who embarked on his maiden professional outing in August 2009, is in line to land his fourth title when he takes on Steve Jevons for the British Masters accolade at De Vere Whites on Saturday, September 20th.

“I know he’s won all eight of his professional contests and he’s a 6ft southpaw so he’ll be a tricky opponent,” Singleton said.

“I haven’t been training to fight a southpaw but I can adapt.

“I’ll do what I have to do to beat him.

“Every southpaw is awkward but he has the size and reach as well. I’ll need to get in close to break him down so it’s going to be a good test for me.

“He’s unbeaten, there’s a title on the line, so this will be a good challenge.”

Singleton added: “It could be another belt to add to the collection.

“When I first started out as a professional boxer I thought I’d be happy with one title - this would be my fourth belt!

“I still want the British and Commonwealth but it’s all about being patient and timing the opportunity right.

“I want to keep busy and fighting for a title is the perfect way to do that.”
