Sandygate boxer roars to victory in Stoke

Sandygate ABC’s Alfie Wardle (14) was the latest prospect from the successful Holmes Street Club to gain a victory away from home.

Pitted against local boxer Creddy Price (Hulton-Abbey ABC) in Stoke-On-Trent, giving away weight and height, Wardle dominated from the off, keeping centre and pushing back with his immense power in such a small frame, scoring with a powerful roll, lead hand hook, rear hand combo every time.

Young Wardle pushed and pummelled his pugilistic partner with pinpoint, aggressive non-stop barrages of bombs.

The second round saw the man-in-the-middle watch Price carefully as Wardle carried on the onslaught without taking a backward step throughout.

The third again saw the Burnley boxer have results with his hooks, switching from head to body at will.

All judges ringside gave the affectionately nicknamed “Pit-Bull” a one-sided unanimous verdict.

Sandygate’s schoolboy hot prospects Sam Tucker (13), Jerome Lawton (13) and Charlie Martin (13) are also attending elite squad training in Manchester in preparation for this season’s ABA Schoolboy Championships, hoping to eclipse last year’s cracking season, with the club entering seven schoolboys for the coveted titles.
