Middle distance star Tiarnan Crorken has qualified for the English School’s Track and Field Championships after smashing his personal best.
The Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic College student (16) chalked up 4:24 last year over 1,500m and reduced it to 4:12 this year.
However, competing for Pendle Athletic Club at Trafford recently he raced to 4:05 – three seconds under the English Schools’ qualifying time.
“I am pleased to get there,” said Tiarnan. I like the 1500m, it’s a steady race but also dependent on a sprint finish - I just enjoy it.
Tiaran, who has represented Lancashire, will be in the Intermediate Boys (aged 15-17) event at Gateshead in July at the English Schools Championships.
