Get ready to pull on your running shoes - the popular Jane Tomlinson Pennine-Lancashire 10K is back!

Returning after a two year break, this Burnley run - on Sunday, June 2nd, 2013 - is expected to sell out in record time, so be sure to secure your place now.

Better still, if you are one of the first 100 people to sign up, you can enter for £10 - making it one of the best value 10Ks in the UK events calendar.

Don’t worry if you miss out on the £10 offer, you can still sign up for the early bird rate of £18 - so long as you register by December 31st.

This year, an exciting new route will start and finish in the town centre - right in front of Burnley Mechanics.

The course takes in Thompson Park, the stunning grounds of Towneley Hall and past Turf Moor.

Supported by the Asda Foundation, Lucozade and Burnley Borough Council, the Pennine-Lancashire 10K is the fourth in a series of 10K spectaculars.

If you fancy pushing yourself further still, why not try one - or all - of the other 10K events?

There will be runs in Hull on Sunday, May 19th 2013, Leeds on Sunday, July 14th 2013, and York on Sunday, August 4th 2013.

And if 10K is not enough of a challenge, why not sign up to tackle the Leeds Half Marathon instead?

In the meantime, Burnley parkrun - a 5K run against the clock - is held every Saturday.

All you have to do is be at the playground, at Riverside car park, Towneley Park, before 9 a.m.

It’s free to join in, although you must register in advance.

All runners who sign up to Parkrun will be e-mailed results on the same day, and sent weekly newsletters.

It is entirely organised by volunteers, and you can e-mail to help.
