Today (25 Feb) is pancake day, but what is the best pancake topping?

The all-important question finally has an answer, as Uber Eats has polled different regions of the country to find out which pancake combo comes out on top.

The delivery service has now revealed the UK's top 10 favourite pancake toppings - and number one may surprise many.

Instead of a traditional pancake topping, such as sugar and lemon, the UK's favourite topping is sausage and maple syrup, followed by bacon in second place and chocolate coming in third.

This savoury revelation is polls apart from last year’s data collated by Uber Eats, which revealed strawberries and whipped cream as the nation’s favourite, followed by banana and Nutella.

But, the data also reveals the nation’s sweet tooth, with three out of five people choosing sweet toppings over savoury.
