A new online publication has been launched specifically for furloughed and out of work journalists who want to volunteer to provide content or editorial to raise revenue for mental health and NHS-related charities.

Known as The Focus, the online news source has been launched in response to the covid-19 pandemic which has seen countless staff without work for the forseeable future.

By providing work for out of work journalists its hoped that The Focus can help alleviate feelings of isolation and low self-esteem among writers, while providing them with a creative outlet and an opportunity to generate revenue for a worthy cause.

The platform will allow journalists to deliver their own takes on the news, and has been designed to assist with mental well-being and self-worth and is an opportunity for journalists to provide content on any subject or matter that is close to their hearts.

How do I get involved?

There are no set hours or article limits to adhere to should you sign up to write for The Focus.

The Cheshire-based business are actively recruiting volunteers, and interested parties can declare their intent to get involved by filling in their details at thefocus.news.
