£50k up for grabs as Channel 4 wants contestants for new Big Brother-style reality show 'The Circle'

Channel 4 is launching a new Big Brother-esque reality show that's all about social media.

The Circle is billed as the 'ultimate popularity contest' - and the winner could walk away with a bucket load of cash.

But there's a twist - the contestants will only communicate with each other online.

The Circle is an ambitious new TV factual entertainment series, where contestants compete against each other to be deemed the most popular.

There is a maximum £50k prize up for grabs for the most popular contestant at the end of the competition.

Contestants will all live in one modern block but separately in individual apartments, interacting with one another exclusively through a bespoke voice-activated social media platform, called The Circle.

There will be games, surprises, twists and turns.

Confident people wanted

The competition will suit confident people who are prepared to be put to the test. So if you have strong opinions, like to get your point across, and are super competitive then get in touch today.

'Throughout the contest the competitors will rate each other, with whoever is liked the least running the risk of being '˜blocked' and removed from The Circle,' said a spokesperson for Channel 4.

'It is only when someone is '˜blocked' that the others will learn about who they have really been interacting with.'

Executive producer Tim Harcourt said: 'It used to just be film stars, rock stars and narcissists who would do anything for the adulation of thousands of strangers.

'Now we've all caught the bug. So many of us do bizarre things or become very different versions of ourselves just to be '˜liked' online.

'And whilst sometimes social media seems ridiculous and shallow, at other times it becomes a force for positive change. This series promises to explore all of this in a fashion that is dramatic, funny, warm and compelling.'
