Re the column in the Burnley Express regarding Manchester Road Station. It looks very impressive, but what about the side of the station on the line coming from Leeds?

Every year I go to my eldest daughter’s in Penzance and always go to Leeds for a change to Penzance, which goes straight through without having to change again. As I am 81 years old and have bad hips and COPD, it takes me all of 15 to 20 minutes to walk up the ramp on to Manchester Road for a taxi home. Are they going to alter that ramp?

It is no good them building a bridge because I cannot climb the steps to go across. From what I can gather, a lot of people are in the same boat as me and it is hard work walking more than a few yards.

Last year I went from Burnley and tried another way, which was to change at Preston and Birmingham but that was harder work. Thank you for listening to me.
