In response to Jean Spencer’s letter “what is the MP’s input”. I can personally assure her Andrew Stephenson has had significant involvement in the issue of speeding drivers in Reedley.
Early this year, our MP visited homes in our area and discussed in depth this particular concern.
As a consequence, we received a series of e-mails and letters from the House of Commons, in which he explained the steps he was taking to try to address this situation. Thus, in my experience this does represent a considerable input.
However, I feel it should be said that apportioning credit or criticism on our elected representatives is not contributing to the resolution of this problem.
Accountability ultimately rests with the irresponsible, dangerous and potentially life-threatening perpetrators of this behaviour, who should be held to account for their actions.
