LETTER: Where will Burnley feature in the poverty league next time?

It was truly shocking to read that Burnley has fallen 10 places down the poverty league of English towns.

This comes after the last Labour Government pumped an unprecedented £87m. into the town. Obviously, a large proportion of this money has been completely wasted by the Lib-Dem council.

For the leader to say how nice it is in Rosegrove (where he lives) sounds a bit like I’m alright Jack to me, especially as it is his Government that has pulled the plug on all future funding. This loss of funding will leave large areas of town derelict and will have a detrimental effect throughout the borough. One wonders where Burnley will be when the next list is published.
