LETTER: We’re afraid to go out at night!

AFTER reading the letters page in last Friday’s Express, I noticed that one of the writers was praising Coun. Neil Mottershead and his team, “who work night and day to try and make our streets safer”. Well, maybe he is in the town centre or thereabouts.

Let me tell you, I have suffered for many years now from anti-social behaviour, as well as watching very closely what is going on in this area, and once being involved with one of the groups that Mr Mottershead represents to tackle anti-social behaviour.

I can say with my hand on my heart that he and the team are not doing much to make our streets safer here in Bank Hall. People here are afraid to go out after dusk.

There are plenty of groups and people that all get funding for these problems and they are all listening — but not doing anything.
