William Halstead, Huey Preece, Eleanor Boyden, Chloe Wright, Emma Payne, Lucas Hardacre, Jake Kirk, and Samuel Brown all picked up medals.

Sensei Warren de Vries said: “I’m very proud of all the club members who attended the event. This is the first time they have had an opportunity to compete in kumite events and so this a reward for all the hard work they put in.

“I hope we can take a larger team to the event next year and come back with even more medals.”

The Springs BEST karate club is open to new beginner or more experienced junior members with classes for beginners on Fridays 4-15 to 5-15pm at the BEST Centre, Network 65 Business Park, Hapton, Burnley, BB11 5TE and Tuesdays 6 to 8pm at Lowerhouse cricket club.
