Young karate enthusiasts are getting a kick out of their hobby after winning a clutch of medals.
A team of 12 youngsters from the Springs BEST karate club based in Hapton travelled to Luton and picked up a haul of five medals the recent KWF England National Shotokan Karate Championships.
The members showed off their skills in freestyle fighting known as Kumite.
William Halstead, Huey Preece, Eleanor Boyden, Chloe Wright, Emma Payne, Lucas Hardacre, Jake Kirk, and Samuel Brown all picked up medals.
Sensei Warren de Vries said: “I’m very proud of all the club members who attended the event. This is the first time they have had an opportunity to compete in kumite events and so this a reward for all the hard work they put in.
“I hope we can take a larger team to the event next year and come back with even more medals.”
