Woman caught shoplifting in Tesco at 4am
Burnley magistrates were told how Barrie Anne Pounder (35) had lost her sister, for whom she had been a carer for seven years and had become down and depressed.
Pounder, of Florence Street, Burnley, admitted stealing the items, worth £11, from Tesco, in the town, on April 23rd.

Mark Williams (defending) said Pounder was on benefits. She had had a difficult time over the past few months and accepted her head had been all over the place.
The solicitor continued: “It’s sadly as a result of the death of her sister, for whom she was a carer for seven years. She became very down and very depressed and has been doing things perhaps in the normal course she wouldn’t. This appears to be one of them.”
