Woman airlifted to hospital after being knocked down in Padiham

A woman was airlifted to hospital with head injuries after she was in collision with a car in Padiham.

The incident happened around 3-10pm yesterday at the junction of Church Street and Inkerman Street. The woman, who police said was middle aged, was in collision with a silver Renault Clio. Paramedics, police and the air ambulance were called to the scene and she was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital. Police said the road re-opened around 4pm.
