A VULNERABLE woman has been found hanged, close to her Padiham home on Tuesday morning.
Alison Hosker, of Arbory Drive, was reported missing by her parents barely an hour earlier. But the body of the 49-year-old, who was designated a “high risk” missing person, was found hanging by police near Padiham Football Club. A search had been launched for the woman at just after 7 a.m. after a 999 call was made to police by a family member concerned for her welfare.
Officers scoured parks and woodland across Padiham in the search asking if dog walkers and commuters had seen the 5ft 2in. woman. However, at 8 a.m. police discovered her hanging in woodland close to Padiham’s Arbories football ground - just round the corner from her home. An ambulance was called to the scene but the woman could not be revived.
The site was cordoned off by police but her death is not being treated as suspicious.
Pathologists carried out a post-mortem on her body on Wednesday morning, but an inquest into her death has yet to be opened by the coroner.
