Win a trip to Memphis, Tennessee, with Burnley Blues Festival

ONE lucky blues lover could find themselves sailing down the Mississippi courtesy of an unmissable competition.

Organisers of the revitalised Burnley International Rock and Blues Festival are giving people the chance to win a trip to the home of blues and the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll – Memphis, Tennessee.

The lucky winner of the Nothin’ But The Blues competition, which has been put together by promoter Doc Redeye Events and the Memphis and Mississippi Tourist Board, will win a six-day trip for two to Tennessee including two nights in Memphis before a journey down the Mississippi Blues Trail to the new BB King Museum in Indianola.

A spokesman for the festival said: “This is truly a music lover’s dream as the trip will give the lucky music lovers the chance to visit BB Kings own ‘Club Ebony’, the venue where artists like Count Basie, Ray Charles, James Brown, Howling Wolf and Ike Turner have all performed since its launch in 1945.”

The Burnley International Rock and Blues Festival returns for the weekend of May 4th and will feature a number of high profile artists including legendary American blues guitarist Jimmie Vaughan, Lou Ann Barton, Hokie Joint, The Revolutionaires and Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze.

Burnley Mechanics will host the main stage acts and Fringe Festival venues including The Talbot, The Bridge and The Artisan Cafe will become the Austin, Chicago and New York stages, all hosting live events

To enter the Nothin’ But The Blues competition, just log onto the Burnley Rock and Blues Festival website www.burnleyrockandblues.com and click on the competition link. The winner will be announced during the festival itself by one of the headline bands on the final night.
