Wife’s bravery inspires Sean to run London Marathon for Breast Cancer Campaign

A BARROWFORD man has pulled on his running shoes to train for the Virgin London Marathon 2012 in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.

Sean Baldwin (32), who works at the Preston radio station 97.4 Rock FM, will join thousands of other runners on the starting line for the 26.2 mile race in London on April 22nd after his wife, Joanne, who used to work at the Burnley Express, was diagnosed with a Grade 1 invasive breast cancer in June.

Joanne is currently in the middle of her chemotherapy and radiotherapy and once the treatments have finished the risk of cancer returning will be reduced to just 4%, which is less than the national statistic.

Sean said: “I want to try to raise as much money as possible so it will help people, including my wife Joanne, to hopefully beat this disease for good. I am really proud to run for campaign as I know every penny I raise will go towards helping the charity fund vital breast cancer research.”
