Wheelchair-bound Lynne’s dream to climb Pendle Hill

But she is determined to raised cash for charities.

Lynne’s friend Jan Raven enjoys the hill and goes up several times every week. One day, they were chatting and Jan said she would get her up the hill “somehow”. This then progressed from a conversation to wondering if it could actually be done.

With a small group of friends, they decided it could be a possibility. First planned for this month, it will now become a reality on June 16th. The money raised for this adventure and personal challenge is going to Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team, North West Air Ambulance Service and Pendle Adapted Cycle Scheme. Lynne, who lives in Colne, has said from the start that she wants to raise money for RPMRT because of the volunteer status of all its members. She explained: “RPMRT is not just for mountains and fells – they are there in any weather for anything. Usually the police and ambulance call RPMRT out when they themselves are struggling.”
