Tom Cooper (26), of Greenbrook Road, has been told the disease has spread and he has compiled a bucket list of things he wants to do with his young family, wife Tammy (25) and daughters Tienna (6) and Ziani (3).

Now 13 staff and 20 parents from Ziani’s nursery, First Class Childcare, Whalley, have organised the 10-mile moonlit walk from Blackburn Cathedral to the nursery.

Nursery manager Sue Chappells said: “We are trying to raise as much money as possible for the family. We looked at Tom’s bucket list and we just thought wow. We just want to help him fulfil his wishes.”

Tom’s bucket list includes going to a Manchester United

game with family and friends, visiting the Eiffel Tower, having a trip to London and going to see the Northern Lights. Also on the list is to thank everybody who has helped Tom and his family since his diagnosis with nasopharyngeal carcinoma in 2011.
