Pubs will be able to serve food and drink in their beer gardens from April 12 in step two of the government's roadmap out of lockdown.

Bearing in mind patrons will have sit outside to enjoy their favourite bar, Monday looks set to be a pleasant and relatively dry day.

Starting off cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of light rain at around 1pm, the rest of the day may see some sunny intervals before turning cloudy in the evening.

The sun will rise at approximately 6.20am, setting just after 8pm, with temperatures in the afternoon predicted to hit a high of 9C.

Monday may be a little breezy, with a west-southwest wind of 8 to 14mph, with gusts as high as 27mph forecast.

So make sure to book a table in advance, pick a sheltered spot that traps the sun, and bring a coat with you just in case.

Today (April 11):

After a bright, but frosty and in places icy start, it will soon cloud over bringing wintry showers alongside the occasional sunny spell. These showers becoming heavy at times during the afternoon, especially over the Pennines. Cold despite light winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Turning clear and dry in another cold night. However, thickening cloud will bring patchy rain into the far west and southwest, falling as snow over higher ground. Widespread frost forming. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Monday (April 12):

Cloud and patchy rain with some hill snow will give way to bright spells and isolated showers towards the southwest. Elsewhere after a sunny start, isolated showers developing. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tuesday to Thursday (April 13-15):

Cloudy with scattered showers on Tuesday with the occasional sunny spell too. Dry with plenty of sunshine on Wednesday and Thursday. Gradually becoming milder.
