WEATHER WARNING: Drivers warned of 80mph gusts
PENDLe road users are being warned to check the weather forecast before they travel today as high winds are predicted to hit the North-West.
The Highways Agency said this morning that the local routes most likely to be affected by gusts were the M65 between junctions three and four and at the M61 interchange and the A56 “highway in the sky” between the M65 and Haslingden.
The Met Office is warning there is a strong chance of gusts of between 60 m.p.h. and 70 m.p.h. with speeds of up to 80 m.p.h. in exposed areas.
