Padiham Walking Day, known as the Whit Walks, will be held on Sunday.

The annual procession through the town centre involves all the churches in Padiham and Hapton.

Worshippers walk alongside members of uniformed organisations in the event and this year the walk starts at 10-30am from Bank Street.

The procession follows the route through to the area known as the fountain at the junction of Institute Street where it turns round and continues back to the starting point.

This year churchgoers have been fund raising to pay for marshalls at the walk and a number of people have also volunteered to take on the role.

Before this a service will be held at St Margaret's in Hapton at 9-15am and the evening service takes place at St Leonard's at 5-30pm.
