Pendle’s finalist is currently in third position against Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds and Helmsley in North Yorkshire but your vote can help take Colne to the top step of the podium.

“We’re in the final stages before the judges decide if Colne will win Best Market Town in UK and every vote counts,” said Coun. Sarah Cockburn-Price, Chairman of Colne Town Council, who helped write the bid.

Winners get a share of a prize pot worth £80,000 which includes expert training and tailor-made tips from Google’s taskforce to help shops, bars and restaurants in the town.

Pendle Council’s Town Centres Officer, Paul Collins, who co-ordinated Colne’s bid to win, said: “The judges watched the premiere of a short video made by Colne film maker Matt Gartside of Darkside Photography.
