VIP guest at Burnley primary school

The red carpet was rolled out for a VIP visitor to a Burnley primary school.

The Bishop of Burnley the Rt Rev Philip North went along to Holy Trinity Primary to talk to year six students as part of their RE topic Life is a Journey.

He spoke about pilgrimage and his time at Walsingham in Norfolk. This is a village famed for religious shrines in honour of the virgin Mary and it is also a major pilgrimage centre.

The children had done their research on Walsingham and prepared a list of questions for the Rt Rev Philip. They also asked him about the role and responsibilities of a bishop which he was more than happy to answer.
