Villagers invited to bid for up to £10,000 for improvement projects

Cash grants, from £100 to £10,000, are up for grabs for voluntary groups and faith organisations who are striving to improve the village where they live.

The next round of funding from the Community Benefits Fund in Cliviger has just opened and the closing date is Thursday, March 29th.

The money is provided by Scottish Power Renewables through the Coal Clough Wind Farm and the fund is administered by Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service.

Cliviger Parish Council is backing the fund that has already paid for a raft of activities in the village including improvement works to Cliviger fishponds, re-decoration of St John’s Church and the creation of a safe outdoor space at the village hall.

Gillian Arnot, Community Liaison Officer at Scottish Power Renewables, said: “We are pleased that Coal Clough Wind Farm is making a positive contribution to the local community of Cliviger.”
