Now Jeff has been getting fit with the help of personal trainer Jamie Kennedy and has shed almost 4st in less than three months for his target of taking on the 10k in Burnley on Sunday, 2nd June.

Jeff, who lives in Burnley, said: “Premier Range doubted I would ever be able to do it, but I’m determined to finish it and get that £10,000 from them for Jane’s charity.

“I had my last sausage and egg butty on January 2nd and I’ve cut out all bread and potatoes since.

“I’ve restricted what I have been drinking and I’ve been training three times a week, walking and on the cross trainer. The weight has been falling off and I feel so much better.

“I’m actually really enjoying the exercise. It’s become a way of life, like food used to be for me. I’m the sort of person who wouldn’t have one bag of crisps, I’d want 15! But now at least I’m doing something that’s good for me.

“I’m really looking forward to race day – and I never thought I’d say that!”

Trainer Jamie, of Fitness Experience (FX) said: “Jeff is doing fantastically well. There is still a long way to go with his training but I am confident he will make it.”
