For the past three months the members, as diplomats of their adoptive countries, have been hard at work debating, forging alliances and marking out their spheres of influence.

“The council has been meeting each week to work towards a negotiated resolution on the future of nuclear weapons,” said Geography teacher Carl Zammit, a former St Theodore’s pupil. Just as with the real UN there have been disagreements, fall outs and the superpowers have battled for authority but progress has been made.

“Soon the group will publish their final draft on the matter that will become the first resolution passed by BTRCC Model UN. It’s a big step forward and gets the students thinking and debating real life issues.”
