Pendle restaurant delivers 50 meals to vulnerable residents in isolation due to coronavirus
In a bid to to their part to care for the local community of people who are more vulnerable to the virus than others, The Fence Gate last week contacted more than 50 locals over the age of 80 and sent freshly-prepared shepherd's pie to their front doors. The restaurant's owner, Kevin Berkins, even turned delivery driver to make the rounds.
“Supporting and pulling together as a community during these unsettling and uncertain times is our top priority," said Kevin of the restaurant's effort to reach some of Fence's more isolated residents. "Being in the hospitality industry we couldn’t think of a better way to ensure we play our part and to reach as many people as we can, safely.
