Mature student Yonkeu (37) achieved a Distinction in his Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care, Social Care Pathway course.

With a keen interest in mental health and social work, Yonkeu is now ideally placed to pursue his dream career as a social worker as he studies for the third year of his degree and then for a Masters in Social Care at UCLan.

Yonkeu said: “I’m so pleased with my results. I chose UCLan Burnley because I loved the calm environment and the small class sizes and the teachers were brilliant.

“Helen Saunders, lecturer in UCLan Burnley’s School of Health and Social Care, said: “I’m so incredibly proud of our students for gaining such an amazing set of results this year. Yonkeu worked diligently and tirelessly and all of his achievements have been well deserved.”
