Two accused of conspiracy to kidnap and murder

Two men accused of conspiracy to kidnap and murder are due to face a plea and case management hearing at the end of July.

Michael Dunphy (38) was due to have such a hearing when he appeared at Preston Crown Court today. The case was adjourned to July 29th for that to take place.

The charges arise from an investigation into the disappearance of Paul Brady from a development site at Bacup in August 2009.

At the same time, a preliminary hearing for Daniel Jones (23) as adjourned for a plea and case management hearing on July 29th.

Both men were remanded in custody by Judge Anthony Russell QC.
