Our investigations are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with any information to contact us. I am especially keen to speak to any drivers who may have been stationary in their vehicles at the traffic lights on Manchester Road and who saw the Mondeo.”
The case has been voluntarily referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as a matter of routine after the Mondeo was spotted by a police officer on Rossendale Road prior to the collision. There was no pursuit.
