Tributes to biker killed in Waddington smash

RELATIVES of a motorcyclist who died following a crash in Waddington at the weekend have paid tribute to their “loving son and brother”.

Thirty-nine-year-old Dean Walkden (pictured) was involved in an accident at around 11-30 a.m. on Sunday, on Fell Road at the junction of Mill Lane.

Mr Walkden, of Haslingden, was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from his Kawasaki motorcycle when it was in collision with a Ford Mondeo car.

The road was subsequently closed for around four hours to allow collision investigators to carry out their work.

The man and the woman in the Mondeo were treated from shock.

Relatives this week described Dean as a “hard working lad” who was a sheet metal fabricator, DJ and karaoke host and “a loving son and brother”.

His family added: “He lived life to the full, enjoying driving, riding his motorbike, diving, travelling and BBQs. He was never without a smile and will be sadly missed by us all.”

“The motorcyclist was travelling with another rider and I would urge anybody who may have seen any of the three vehicles prior to the collision to contact police.”
