Treasure hunt's rewarding discovery for hospice

A treasure hunt unearthed £232 in aid of Pendleside Hospice.

Anne Green from Worsthorne organised the treasure hunt in memory of her husband Roger Green.

After Roger died in April, Anne joined Pendleside’s Bereaved Walking Group which meet every Monday morning at Towneley Garden Centre for a gentle walk followed by a cup of tea and a cake.

Anne was joined on the treasure hunt by friends and fellow members of the walking group and made kind donations.

Sammi Bracewell, who works for the hospice, said: “If you would like to organise your own fund-raising activity, please get in touch with our fund-raising team on [email protected] or call 01282 440120.

“The hospice currently costs more than £3.8m. per year to run. A grant from the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group provides approximately 26% of running costs but the balance, over £2.8m., is raised locally from events including the Pendle Pub Walk and the Burnley 10k.”
