Trains expected to be delayed or cancelled as gantry replacement continues at Preston train station

A number of trains services running through Preston are expected to be delayed or cancelled today as engineering works continue at the station.

A gantry at the station is being replaced and the work has gone over schedule. It's expected to be completed by 4pm today.

National Rail said train services have been suspended at the station.

A spokesman said: "As a result of this, there will be further changes to the scheduled service today. Trains may be cancelled or revised, and journeys on some routes may be replaced by buses."

A number of Northern services will be replaced with a replacement bus service, however scheduled TransPennine Express services to the station are currently suspended
