A taxi flipped on its side after it was involved in a head-on collision with a BMW in Burnley.
The accident happened around lunchtime on Wednesday in Melville Street, off Briercliffe Road.
Firefighters helped to cut the driver of the taxi free, although it is not thought his injuries are life-threatening. The BMW driver escaped unhurt.
Emergency services attended the incident as a number of bystanders gathered to watch the drama unfold.
It is not yet known what caused the accident which occurred on a tight corner of a residential street.
One person who lives nearby said: “There are speed humps on part of this road, but people still seem to drive too quickly on other parts of the road.”
Former council leader Julie Cooper said she would make ward councillors aware of the issue.
Coun. Cooper said: “A number of roads near Melville Street have speed humps but these aren’t always the answer.
“I don’t know the details surrounding this accident but ultimately drivers have to be responsible when driving in built-up residential areas. I will see the county highways officers look into this.
“Thankfully, a lot of our roads in residential areas have 20mph limits and for good reason.”
