Firefighters gave first aid to the driver of a car involved in a road traffic accident yesterday.

Two fire crews from Nelson were called to the scene of the two car crash in Brunswick Street at around 8pm.

Fire crews treated the driver before the ambulance arrived.

No-one was trapped in the vehicles and fire crews remained at the scene to make sure the area was clear of hazards including fire, fuel and oil.
