Car plunges into Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Barrowford
a MAN who drove his car into the canal at Barrowford Locks at lunchtime on Friday had to be rescued by firefighters.
A specialist fast water unit dragged the man, said to be in his 50s, from the silver BMW and he was taken to hospital for tests.
There were no suspicious circumstances and the man was alone at the time.
The car was moved to the water’s edge to allow canal boats to pass.
