Police appeal for information after boy (10) involved in fail to stop collision

Burnley police are appealing for information after a ten year old boy was injured following a fail to stop collision in Burnley.

At shortly before 7.30pm yesterday (Sunday, July 17) the boy was riding his bike along Springhill Road at the junction with Berry Street when he was involved in a collision with a car.

The car, which was travelling along Springhill Road, failed to stop at the scene. It was described as a small dull red Peugeot or old style Citroen Saxo.

The boy suffered a fractured collar bone and a head injury and was taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital for treatment.

PC Neil Goodison of the Road Policing Unit said: “This collision has left the young boy with serious injuries and I would urge the driver of the car involved to come forward and make contact with us. I would also urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has any information about the car involved to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
