Past-president Karin Wilson handed cheques to ex-service charity Salute and animal charity Pendle Dogs in Need.

She said: “Every year the Chamber makes several donations to various charities, and our members wanted to support both Salute and Pendle Dogs in Need with the vital work they carry out from the profits generated at our annual ball.

“This year local businesses were incredibly kind with their donations of raffle prizes at the ball and I am very proud of the generosity of our members and the wider business community, not only for the money donated, but also for the time they give up to promote Clitheroe and the surrounding area.”

Based in Burnley, Salute is a not-for-profit organisation established by ex-military personnel and their families. It aims to promote the physical, intellectual, emotional and social wellbeing of serving military and ex-military service personnel and their families in the North West.

Pendle Dogs in Need, relying totally on donations and fund-raising, helps to find dogs secure loving homes for life by carefully matching them to potential new owners.
