Topless robber threatened man with knife

A topless robber threatened a man with a knife before stealing a quantity of cash.

Police are appealing for information following the incident which happened on a footpath leading from Fraser Road to Scot Lane in Wigan between 11.15pm and 11.30pm on July 20.

The man put a knife to the victim’s chest and took a quantity of cash before running off into a nearby estate.

The man is described as white, mid 30’s, 6ft tall, slim build, shaved head with a clean shaven face. He was wearing grey shorts and had no top on. He spoke with a local accent.

Police Constable Chris Wynne, of GMP’s Wigan borough, said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim and it is fortunate that they were not injured.

“They have been left shaken and in shock by the ordeal and I would urge anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.”
