Three motorists were involved in a collision on Friday evening on the M65 close to Altham.
A Citroen Picasso travelling in the outside lane is believed to have spun out of control before clipping the central reservation between junctions seven and eight at around 8.30pm.
The Picasso, which was left facing in the wrong direction, was struck head on by a Ford Focus which was then hit by a Volkswagen Polo.
Firefighters from Hyndburn were called to the scene along with police and ambulance services. Two lanes of the motorway were closed while the casualties were taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary suffering from cuts and bruises.
