Three casualties cut free from cars after two road accidents in Burnley

Three people had to be cut free from their vehicles after two separate road accidents yesterday.

The first accident, involving two vehicles, happened in Abinger Street, Burnley, just after noon.

Fire crews from Burnley extricated two casualties from their vehicles and made the scene safe. They were at the scene for around 35 minutes.

The second accident happened at 9-30pm on Barrowford Road in Fence and involved three cars. Two fire engines from Nelson were called to the incident and they used stabilisation equipment to extricate one casualty from their vehicle before they were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Firefighters spent an hour at the scene making it safe.
